We loved this chilis. It was empty when we arrived. A bad sign ? Some would say so but it was a blessing for us. Our server was friendly but not overbearing. Food was great & we were very happy with everything. Clean restaurant in beautiful location

Do not go here, they don't know how to make burgers. Unless, you want a piece of undercooked beef to fall apart in your hands. The service is undertrained and disorganized. Bad beer selection, the waiters have no accountability, and their medium rare steaks are purple raw. This is the worst place to eat in Vernon Hills. Terrible, just terrible.

I came in here for to Chili's take out for a business luncheon. I called on the phone and was helped by a VERY patient man, who was on the phone with me for about ten minutes as I navigated through the online menu and ordered special dietary requests. I had a large order and came a few minutes earlier than pick up time. The food was ready on the dot. They had enough napkins, tongs, and utensils for everyone. The price was very fair and the food tasted excellent. I'm really glad we chose Chili's for our lunch event!

Food was ok. Service left a lot to be desired. My waiter came with drink orders , once my food was served , I didn't see him again. I thought I'd have to get my own refill. The table next to us had a waitress who mentioned four times that she is new. That may be, but it's a little unprofessional to keep using that as an excuse. The $1.99 kiosk asked for my opinion, I gave it to them.

I came in for lunch after a afternoon of shopping at the mall with my son. The menu looks different as it's been a while since I ate a Chili's as I usually eat upscale restaurants in the city. I had the Ranchero Chicken Taco's which were pretty good. My 6 year old wanted hot wings LOL.. I let him have it and he must of went through two cokes within 8mins. Our service was good as it was kind of empty around 2pm. I used the kiosk tablet looking thing on your table. Not knowing that I would be charged $1.99 for using it as my son powers his way around it like a pro. I mean money isn't a problem but I'm sure other customers complain that they get charged for even touching it. I got to pay at my table on the tablet thing and I must say that's pretty cool not having to wait for your waiter to bring your check when you want to leave. I got to say back in the day when I was in high school I used to come every Friday night with my whole crew before we were up to no good. Well, when it was the old Chili's location before the new one so that was years ago but miss those day's...

Food ok. Watch out for the sneaky kiosks that charge you $1.99 for 3 min. Without any buying confirmation Sad way to scam more money

Honestly, service here can be hit or miss, we've had terrible, almost angry service from an older female bartender who mumbled under her breath about "Jesus, Joseph and Mary" but servers like Maggie who are friendly, warm and upbeat make p for it! And most importantly good is always good!

I've had good and bad experiences here. I tried a drink and didn't like it. The bartender made something else for me that I did like at no extra charge. Sometimes the food seems pretty blah but then again it is a franchise. Some of the prices for what you get seem high.

I can consider myself a regular there :) I like their greasy burgers and sweet potato fries. But most of all I LOVE their spicy shrimp tacos. Out of this world awesome. Among other favorites are fajitas (get the trio) and buffalo chicken salad. Drinks are pretty good too, love their margaritas! I've never had issues with the service, everybody was very nice and helpful every time I've been there.

Wow, I mean how hard do you have to try, in order to fuck up a mid-price chain location? I could have sworn that I have written a review before, but its not on my profile, so maybe not... I was somewhat looking fwd to Chili's coming back to VH, after the last location closed due to health code issues. Sad as it was ALL due to one person working in the kitchen and not the restaurant. They cleaned up, but the damage to the rep was done and now its a Jared jewelry. Anyway back to this mess of a place. We have dined here twice, with the first time being shortly after they opened. The place was busy and after a short wait, we sat in the bar area. Service was horrible, but after some discussion with the waiter, it appeared that it was mostly due to issues in the kitchen. They seemed to be missing orders, not filling orders accurately and having a few "re-fires" backing up the kitchen. Anyway, about 40 min after sitting down we got our salads, but informed that they are out of Ranch dressing. I mean how the fk do you manage that? That's not a kitchen issue, that's a management issue! Run over to Wild Wings and borrow some. We got our food about 1hr after sitting down and it was your standard Chili's fare, but fries were soggy and rest of just ok. Fast forward to our 2nd visit and my daughter wondering if they finally got that Ranch dressing in now. Service was poor and I will be polite here, but the server was on the heavy side and seemed to labor in her task. We ordered the chips and salsa and it took forever. She passed by several times with nothing and when she finally brought it, said something like "Oh, you've been waiting a while, so I grabbed them." Not sure if a kitchen runner is supposed to do that, but c'mon if you saw the first time (5min) after we placed our orders without chips, should have moved then. Our entrees arrived about 5 min after chips; poor timing. Food was mediocre, combo fajitas tasted ok, but I think there are better options for them in the area. Overall food was ok, typical Chilis/TGIF/Bennigans/etc quality and prep. Issue is that service here is just bad. At this point they should have gotten their act together, but they have not. Service wise, the waitress did not point out any specials or items on the menu. For example, mention the $20 two dinner combo. Didn't check in on us until we were pretty much done and was seldom around for soda refills while we ate. I am not sure we'll be coming back anytime soon. First time visit: 1 star 2nd visit: 2 stars

You probably already know what to expect from Chili's, and it seems many people aren't fans but I happen to like this chain. The chips and salsa are the best! We enjoy the soup and salad combo, chicken ranch sandwich and chicken fajitas. They also have good kids meals with lots of healthier options (like fruit or veggies for sides instead of fries). Its a great place to go with a family because its relatively loud and full of other families so no one minds a slightly rowdy toddler. We typically get good service at this location. It's pretty new so the inside is still nice and modern looking. Parking can be tricky because of the overly popular BW3 next door (still not sure how that many people fit in there!). Overall a reliable choice for lunch or dinner!

Oh, Chili's. Making a return in Vernon Hills from getting screwed a half a decade or so back because of Salmonella or something. I think of it as a welcome addition to Vernon Hills. It's not a particularly delicious addition - I have never found Chili's to have the most interesting or enjoyable food. But the management is very nice, as are the waiters. And I mean, the food wasn't bad. It just wasn't amazing, but I didn't expect it to be so. If you've been to Chili's before, you should know what to expect. Not bad, not great. Just, Chili's. A moderately diverse choice of food, tending towards the American side. Family-friendly, of course. And in a nice area of Vernon Hills.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on Saturday night because we had a gift card to use. I'm not one to pass up a free dinner but I wish the food here was tasted better. We both ordered dinner combinations. Mine had garlic salmon and baby back ribs with a side of broccoli and rice. My salmon and broccoli tasted salty and buttery although I'm not sure why because they are supposed to be the "healthy" option here. My broccoli was also overcooked. The ribs were no better. There was barely any meat on the bones! The only good thing about the meal was it was free and the service was quick and easy. When you're ready to pay your bill, you can do so at a little machine at your table.

WORST POSSIBLE TAKE OUT SERVICE! The girl on the phone said that the food would be ready in 10 minutes and it wasn't ready until 45 minutes after I called.. The burger was cold and the coleslaw was missing the source? I would not recommend this to anyone for takeout... Unprofessional!..

Pretty poor performance over all for a chain restaurant. Especially considering there is literally a Fridays and Buffalo Wild Wings next door.

I came here with a big group during lunch and we had called in a day before to let them know we'd be having a lot of people. We had two waitresses that took forever to bring us our food and half the table got theirs a while before the other half. They forgot some of the appetizers and sides we ordered... the worst part is that they literally took 20 minutes to figure out the check and bring it to us. When we each received our bill, a few people had charges which they didn't order so obviously these waitresses weren't paying attention. All in all, we were there for an extra 40 minutes longer than we should have been. I would not come here again! Oh yea, and since we had such a big group, the 18% (undeserved) gratuity was already added to the bill.

I don't know why but I like Chili's. It's probably in the pepperation. We went fairly soon after it's opening and were able to get a seat on the patio with warmers as it was early evening and slightly chilly. The servers kindly turned them on so the wife wouldn't freeze. We got the 2 for $20 or some similar promotion and a cocktail as we had a $25 gift card. The food arrived promptly and was piping hot, a good sign. It was delicious and reminded me why I don't mind coming here every so often. The only oddity was the waitress who came with the bill said the gift card had already been used which was odd as neither of us had used it. She came back and said there was a random amount left on it which again made no sense. Someone used $6.27 mysteriously?! We settled the bill as it was wasting our time. Dunno what happened there?!

Chili's. One of America's standard bar and grill chains with a Mexican tilt, I guess. The Chili's in Vernon Hills is located in a new building on Townline Road. As such it feels relatively fresh and clean. I sat at a booth near the bar and enjoyed a wall full of TVs showing various sporting events. My server, who also was the daytime bartender, was very friendly and attentive. I got a cup of chili which was satisfactory. I also had an avocado burger, fries and a drink. All of them were appetizing, and the total was $14 and change. So four stars for this one- the meal was about what you'd expect but the service was above average, and I think that's worth noting.

Chips n salsa get 5stars. Classic sirloin not worth the 30min wait. Excellent bar with plenny tv's, nice dining room, good waiters. You can play games n pay your bill on this little touch screen machine.

The food was good but not great. However, our server was excellent. Very helpful and attentive. When needed something, bam he was on it. If it wasn't for the service, I wouldn't be happy. 5 stars for service, 2 for food. They also had this neat machine, it makes it easier to pay the bill, ie. tipping on credit card, splitting bills, or calling the server to paid with cash. Also they can order dessert and play games from it. Parking is weird though, mostly likely you have to walk because you parked in the back, hard to tell when it's at night.

I'm simple when it comes to what I order. Usually I just get some fries and a chicken dish because I feel like it's hard to mess those things up. Well this place messed up both things. I don't like their fries and I don't like any chicken dish I've tried so far. Also, I've been there 3 times and only once I got good service. Just go down the street and eat at Fridays, it's much better.

I'm so hooked on chili's chips & salsa. Crazy right? This location is fairly new, so this was my first time. It's very clean. A pretty standard Chili's. I don't remember our waitresses name, but she was very attentive and friendly. Our food was great, we even had leftovers. Price was fair. I'll definitely be back to this location!

Chili's, you are a reliable destination. People of the world, stop acting like you're better than people who eat at chain restaurants. Everyone does it. They are reliable and usually pretty tasty. As far as things go Chili's has great appetizers, good drink specials, and a few old reliable favorites on the menu. My favorite is the original chicken crispers with a bunch of ranch dressing on the side. I don't recommend ordering a steak or anything. It would likely be mediocre. They do have some tasty salads - but please don't believe they are healthy. I love the chips and salsa, and their regular guacamole is not bad at all. They have some new soft pretzel appetizer that is pretty good as well. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean, and the staff is pretty great. I've never had bad service as long as I have been coming here. We often have the same waiter. I think his name is Roberto. He is awesome. My carry out orders have been correct the few times I have utilized the service, and they are also ready on time.

Have been here many, many times before and have had good service, but tonight was AWFUL (the two stars are only because I like Chili's and I'm hoping this was just an off night)! Knowing we were a large party, I called to say we were coming in in about 15 minutes, gave my name and was told they'd get a table ready. When we arrived, we were told it was a 45 minute wait. Nobody mentioned that on the phone. They scrambled to get our tables together and we were seated in about 20 minutes. Once seated, the waitress told us her name and said she'd have two helpers with her tonight (never saw them), but it then took FOREVER to get our drink order to be taken, another 15 minutes for our food order to be taken, and something as simple as chips and salsa, took a crazy long time to be served. Our friend ordered enchiladas, and the waitress came back 30 minutes later to tell us they were out of them, and asked if he'd like something else off the menu. She brought him a menu and disappeared. When she finally reappeared, she said they were out if the corn tortillas, but could make then with flour. Again she vanishes. Eventually, he ordered a different item off the menu. 20 minutes later (now at the restaurant over an hour) the food comes out. The first thing served was the darn enchiladas! And shortly after that he got his other entree served. Everybody got their good, but the people who ordered fajitas never got their tortillas. It was just a cluster. The waitress had the nerve to tell our friend that they weren't charging him for the second entree, only the the enchiladas - those should have been free, too! Furthermore, the manager never came over. Instead he sat down at the booth the row over from us and ate his dinner. I'm sure I'm leaving things out, but I just don't want to dwell on this anymore. VERY disappointed, Chili's, very disappointed.

Mcds would of been better , I have no idea who the chef is but your food taste like shit . Tip 1 - get rid of your chef ASAP ! This chain is as worse as mcds . The quality of the food is poor and unseasoned Tip 2- get more staff or at least make sure your lack of staff is active ! Your bartender should be at the bar not hiding in the back . Tip 3- I use to work with the bartenders regional manager at a restaurant in lake bluff , sorry girl but this place is trash .

Remember when they shut down for salmonella poisoning? I do.... new location doesn't mean we'll forget.

We loved this chilis. It was empty when we arrived. A bad sign ? Some would say so but it was a blessing for us. Our server was friendly but not overbearing. Food was great & we were very happy with everything. Clean restaurant in beautiful location
